Welcome – Queenstown update
Queenstown has had one of the most spectacular summers on record and long spells of fine weather with light winds have ensured an enjoyable time for locals and visitors alike. We are now moving into autumn and the stunning amber colours this seasonal change brings. Our mornings and evenings are getting cooler but the warm sunny days are perfect for visitors to explore the region by land, sky or water, soaking up the majestic scenery and enjoying a huge range of activities. The region’s vineyards are alive with activity at this time of year as more than 6,000 tonnes of grapes are harvested before winter frosts set in – a perfect time for a wine tour or vineyard lunch. We encourage you to view the events section of our website as the Motatapu Adventure Bike/Run, Queenstown Bike Festival, NZPGA Pro Am golf tournament at The Hills, Gibbston Harvest Festival, and Arrowtown Autumn Festival are only weeks away.
TRENZ, New Zealand’s largest travel trade show, is returning to Queenstown in May and we are working hard to ensure this year’s event is as memorable as last year. We look forward to welcoming the attendees into our region for what should be a very special time.

Jetstar is now operating daily direct flights between Wellington and Queenstown.
Emirates is up-gauging its Dubai - Melbourne - Auckland service from the existing B777-300ER service to a double-decker A380. With the second A380 service in place, Emirates will offer a total of 1,686 seats a day in each direction.
