We are fully commited to supporting Tourism NZ in the creation of famil itineraries for visiting travel & media professionals.  Our members and our organisation encourages the inclusion of Queenstown in all famil visits to our country.  The Destination Queenstown Trade team also organises and hosts around 2 inbound tour operator familiarisation trips and 2 Australian Wholesale familiarisation trips each year.  If you would like to find out more about these or believe that your group of frontline staff would benefit from first-hand experience, please get in touch to discuss opportunities with our Trade Team.

About The Programme

Tourism New Zealand's mission is to motivate travellers to come now, do more and send others. To help achieve that goal they've put together Explore New Zealand - a discount programme for travel sellers and media. Like us, Tourism New Zealand believes that if you have first hand knowledge of our country, you will be better able to help your clients plan their New Zealand holidays.

Tourism operators in the Explore New Zealand programme offer you very special discounted offers - making it easy and inexpensive for you to experience Queenstown and our surrounding regions.To use the discounts, you need to apply for the Explore Card as described below.

Who Can Apply for an Explore Card?

If you're a frontline travel seller or you have been commissioned to produce written or media material on New Zealand, you may be entitled to use the discounts in this publication.

Explore New Zealand cards may be issued to:

* Frontline travel sellers who can use their New Zealand experiences to better advise and sell to their clients
* Product planners, managers and other key decision makers who can increase New Zealand's profile and visitor numbers
* International travel writers or individuals in media with a written commission to profile New Zealand
* Bloggers (not open to New Zealand bloggers). Click here to see the criteria for bloggers.

You should allow at least three weeks for your application to be processed and the necessary documentation to be returned to you by post. If you are going to other destinations before arriving in New Zealand, please ensure you apply for your card at least three weeks before leaving home. TNZ will need two of your business cards too, which will be used to create your Explore New Zealand Card - so make sure you post these to them along with a note explaining that you have applied for the Programme.

Once approved, you will be sent a laminated Explore New Zealand card which gives access to around 500 discounted offers on scenic flights, accommodation, sightseeing, activities, restaurants and shopping. A hardcopy print version of the Explore New Zealand book, listing all the discounts, will be sent out to you too.
