Stan Walker was heating up the rails on Saturday filming part of his new music video on the Kingston Flyer steam train.
Visitors waiting for the train and Kingston locals alike were treated to an unexpected surprise when they turned up to the Kingston Flyer train station to find Stan Walker and a film crew on location filming his latest music video.
Stan, an Australian-born New Zealand recording artist, became famous in 2009 when he won the seventh and final season of Australian Idol. He's gone on to release three albums since including the hits 'Black Box' and 'Choose You.' Fame seemed to sit easily on the 21 year old's shoulders as he posed for pictures with extras on the train and waved to the crowds of tourists waiting for the next public departure.
The Kingston Flyer vintage steam train is located at the southern end of Lake Wakatipu in the small township of Kingston, 35 minutes drive from Queenstown along the Southern Scenic Route. The train has been operational since 1878 and has multiple daily departures along 14km of scenic track.
We look forward to seeing Kingston's iconic attraction on film when the video is released later this year.
