Heaps of our bike trails start right in town, while others take you into the beautiful back-country via helicopter. Cross-country (XC) and all-mountain riders flock here to hit the wide selection of rugged, isolated back-country hill trails. Downhillers are big fans of the gondola-assisted downhill mountain biking trails at Queenstown Bike Park. Ride the gondola with your bike to the top of Bob’s Peak then pick your trail down, including grade 1 Hammy’s Track and the grade 6 Grundy. 7-mile is another purpose-built single track popular with downhill riders. Spend an hour or a day exploring the banked corners, berms and jumps.

Heli biking is a great option if you’re looking for the excitement of downhill with some epic views thrown in. Queenstown offers the most heli-bike options in the world with more than 400km of trails across five mountain ranges. Trips can be tailored to suit ability.

Serious freestyle riders can’t go past Queenstown’s professionally built jump park, Gorge Road. Packed with advanced lines including tabletops, doubles, hip jumps and a pump track, Gorge Road’s massive jumps aren’t for the faint-hearted!

Road cyclists are spoilt for choice in the Queenstown region with some of NZ’s most scenic road rides on offer. Follow the lake edge to Glenorchy, wind your way through the Kawarau Gorge to Cromwell or hit “zig-zags” - up and over the Crown Range to Wanaka.

Group bike rides are a great way to meet new people while exploring the spectacular Queenstown terrain. Email peter@heritagegold.co.nz for more information on times and where to meet.
