The ten coolest days of winter fun, laughter and celebrations came to an end last night as thousands of people descended on Earnslaw Park for Mardi Gras, the final event in the 2012 American Express Queenstown Winter Festival.
Although the much-loved Winter Festival is over for another year, there are still plenty more exciting events to enjoy in Queenstown.
Coming up on the 8th of July is the 10th annual New Zealand Mountain Film Festival being held in Memorial Hall from 6pm. A celebration of adventurous sports and lifestyles, the evening features a talk by professional extreme sport athlete, Tim Emmett, UK, followed by six short adventure films.
On the 21st July individuals and teams will travel by ski/snowboard, mountain bike, kayak, foot and road bike from the top of Remarkable’s ski area to Coronet Peak in the North Face Peak to Peak race. This classic winter multi-sport event is guaranteed fun. See last year's video here.
