This year’s New Zealand Mountain Film Festival has had audiences buzzing with excitement at the thrills, spills and adrenaline-inducing action on-screen in Wanaka and Queenstown during the past few days.

The festival, now in its 10th year, finishes tomorrow evening with a special "best of 10 years" session, which looks back on some of the most popular adventure films featured during the past decade.
Festival director Mark Sedon was quoted in the Otago Daily Times saying audience numbers were on a par with recent years and the response to this year's films had been positive.

"We're getting a lot of people coming out of the theatre just buzzing. You just hear the chatter and I think people have been really inspired by the films," Mr Sedon said.

If you missed this film festival there are two more taking place in Queenstown in August.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is being brought to Queenstown on the 19th August by the New Zealand Alpine Club. Hot on the heels of the Banff Mountain Film Festival held every autumn in Canada, the World Tour hits the road with a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films from the festival. Check out the event details here.

The Winter Games Adventure Film Festival returns to Queenstown from the 24th – 26th August with a jam-packed programme of adventure films that are sure to inspire and entertain. The films will portray a new world of adventure, a place of extremes where gravity and speed are toys to be played with. Find out more about the Winter Games Adventure Film Festival here.
