Kiwi Olympic medallists are favouring the Wakatipu to wind down from their London exploits.
BMX silver medallist Sarah Walker has been in Queenstown skiing during the past week whilst gold medal-winning single sculls rower Mahe Drysdale and his partner Juliette Haigh (far right) – who won bronze in the women’s rowing pairs with Rebecca Scown (left) – all stopped in at the Cardrona Pub last Sunday before going to Queenstown.
Walker, dining in Queenstown’s Lone Star on Saturday night with friends, says it’s her holiday week and she plans spending as much of it on the slopes as she can before returning north.
“Skiing was my first love.”
