The 34th edition of the Queenstown JazzFest promises to deliver an exciting three days of live musical entertainment all served with a stunning scenic backdrop. The Jazzfest runs over Labour weekend (19th -21st October) with a new three day jammed-packed programme, perfect for jazz lovers.

The festival has grown from humble beginnings back in 1978 to become one of New Zealand's most heralded jazz events, featuring world class musicians from around the country and the globe.

This year Jazzfest have assembled a stunning line-up of local, national and international artists who will showcase their talents across all genres of jazz as they take part in nearly 50 different free events and ticketed concerts. From smooth blues to big band swing, dixieland to funk bands, traditional jazz to ground breaking contemporary concepts, there is literally something for everyone, young and old.

Highlights include a new event this year - a New Orleans style jazz parade with jazz artists, dancers and jugglers marching from the Queenstown gardens to the lakefront on Saturday 20th October and the 'The Moving Picture Show', on Friday and Saturday night at the Village Green. A screening of classic 1920's silent movies set to music from a live orchestra. Both of these and many more events are free to attend.

So if you enjoy live music then check out the programme and come to Queenstown for what promises to be a fantastic weekend of Jazz and other events.
