icking off the hilarity is the Queenstown Resort College Hospitality Race starring teams from Queenstown’s top hotels in a relay race featuring housekeeping staff, porters and waiters all vying for the honour of being crowned “best in the basin”.

Next it’s a Festival favourite that, for the past 2 decades has put the ‘Queen’ in Queenstown – the MoreFM Drag Race. It’s an invitation-only, high-speed dash around Earnslaw Park over strategically placed obstacles by usually reserved local gentlemen who race in high heels, skirts of questionable length and wild hair and make-up. Fiercely competitive and totally hilarious.

Then, in a Festival first, it is the Queenstown debut of the Pub on Wharf Sheep Race. That’s right. We’re done with the All Blacks. We’ve got the Racing Baa Blacks and wait ‘til you see these guys move. Reaching speeds of up to 60kms an the wool will be flying as they these professionally trained hoofers motor around the a 90 yard course. You can also purchase tickets with plenty of prizes up for grabs if your sheep wins. All proceeds to the Remarkable Parents Association.
