Remarkables Market Chef Competition Heat 5 & 6

The Remarkables Market annual Chef competition was inspired by the opportunity to showcase local and regional delights and unearth Queenstown’s hidden culinary talents.

Each month two heats of two contestants will be mentored by a local chef to create a mouth-watering dish – judged by some of Queenstown’s best chefs.
Contestants each receive a ‘mystery’ box of food, which could include award-winning gourmet free-range bacon, hams, venison salamis and imported European goodies from Deep Creek Delicatessen, Just Fish Southland Blue Cod, Cardrona Merino Lamb, Queenstown-made chorizo and steak by Zamora Homemade. Other stallholders have contributed product including Freeway Orchard, The original smoke and spice company, Parioli Extra Virigin Olive oil.

The competition is open to all ages and each contestant, with a mentor chef on hand, will have 60 minutes to whip up a culinary delight.
The heat dates are January 26 and February 23 building up to the final on March 23 2013.
Remarkables Market is a European inspired market , open every Saturday from 8.30am- 1pm. Housed in and around Remarkables Red Barn, the market is easy to find, follow the signs from approximately 100m from the main entrance to Remarkables Park Town Centre.
