The second annual Red Bull Roast It is due to start this Saturday March 2, 12pm, at the QMTBC Gorge Rd Jump Park. Get down there early for the best viewing position.

The BMX dirt competition will be bigger and better in 2013 with a confirmed field of top international riders including Anthony Napolitan (USA), Mike (Hucker) Clark (USA), Brandon Dosch (USA) and Kye Forte (UK).

 New Zealand will also represent with a strong contingent of riders including Jaden Leeming, Jed Mildon, Paul Langlands and the Bolter twins. Jaden Leeming, a 19-year-old Red Bull athlete from Browns Bay, Auckland will be riding in Red Bull Roast It for his first time after recovering from injury at last year’s event. He is excited to learn from other top international athletes at such a renowned dirt park.

 “It’s just so cool to have riders this big in New Zealand, to ride with them down at Gorge Road is going to be amazing. I’m really looking forward to the challenge” says Leeming.

 With 6 years in the making, the jump park at Gorge Road has been lovingly hand built into a BMX dirt heaven. Over the years it has become one of the most iconic and premiere dirt parks of the world. The unique layout of Gorge Road maximises the park’s width, creating opportunities for new lines and tricks, pushing the progression of BMX to new levels.

 Competition on the day will see 10 man heats starting at 12pm. The top five from each heat will progress forward. Competitors will judge the heat before them, voting the best riders into the 20 man, hour-long super final. Winners will take out “Best Rider” with $5000, “Best Line” and “Best Trick” with $1500 each respectively.
