Driving to Queenstown
Access by road is a wonderfully scenic option. You can drive yourself, take a bus or join a coach tour. Buses arrive in Queenstown daily from Glenorchy, Wanaka, Dunedin, Invercargill and Christchurch.
Roads to Queenstown are well signposted easily guiding visitors from each of the surrounding South Island regions. Highways are fully sealed and well-maintained but some side-roads to activities & attractions may be loose gravel and require more time and care. On unsealed roads motorists should slow down and allow additional traveling time. If you come across sheep and cattle being moved along roads, please drive slowly and show consideration to our farmers.
