LUMIFY Sherwood

Sherwood Queenstown is celebrating the start of winter with an electrifying mix of lights and music over Queen’s Birthday weekend. Part of the LUMIFY Exhibition, the weekend features light art installations from LUMA favourite AMD Angus Muir Design and music by Sweet Mix Kids and QFO Experiment.

Over four nights, as the evenings grow dark, Sherwood Queenstown light up with art and music.

Specially curated for Sherwood, light art by AMD Angus Muir Design will be switched on at 5 pm each evening, illuminating the space in unexpected ways. The light shows will be accompanied by music, including two special live performances.

On Saturday, New Zealand based DJ/Production duo Sweet Mix Kids will electrify the winter evening with a live set 7 pm – 9:30 pm.

Sunday’s family-friendly performance from QFO Experiment will have you tapping your feet to their nostalgic jazz/funk/soul music from 6 pm.

Friday and Monday will be more mellow, with a curated soundtrack accompanying the artwork.

Known for its quirky vibes and sustainable approach, the team at the Sherwood will turn it on all weekend. Enjoy drinks by the firepit or under the tepee. Order their signature sourdough pizzas or make a reservation and choose from Executive Chef Chris Scott’s seasonal menu, made with local and sustainable produce.

*LUMIFY* is a pop-up project, created in lieu of LUMA, bringing light and performance art to the laneways and ‘in-between’ spaces of the Queenstown CBD this Queen’s Birthday Weekend.

*Sweet Mix Kids* Sandon James and Chris Scott are producers and DJs. They mix a huge range of genres in flamboyant live performances and are regular favourites at some of the world’s coolest parties.

*QFO Experiment* are alchemists of nostalgic rhythm; think jazz, funk, disco and soul. They’re mood makers, improvisers and the root cause of uninhibited foot tapping.
