Your day begins with a scenic drive along the Glenorchy highway to Bob's Cove. Once there breathe in the fresh air scented by native New Zealand bush. Listen out for the chatter of native Tui, Bellbird and Wood Pigeon.
As you descend down onto the shoreline of Bob's Cove capture your first glimpse of the deep blue waters and the rugged mountain ranges that surround it. Our native forest and cove hike continues along the shoreline where you will discover an interesting insight into the quarrying of Bob's Cove lime stone. Your friendly guides will point out historic lime kilns and ruins that are unique to Bob's Cove. We then continue along climbing a rocky trail to picnic point which offers 360 degree views of Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables mountain range and the beauty that is BOB'S COVE.
Descend back down to the shoreline for a well deserved morning or afternoon tea. A stunning spot to perfect your stone skimming.
Finish off your adventure with a stop at Wilson's Bay offering more "instagrammable" pics and hang out with our local feathered friends. The native forest and cove hike will satisfy all native lovers and is a photographers dream.
It is an easy walk on well formed trails, suitable for everybody, especially families.
