Stewart Island Day Trip
$549 NZDBook Now
Stewart Island offers a very special experience. New Zealand’s third largest island, just 30 kilometres from the bottom of the South Island, is a largely undiscovered, unspoilt eco-tourist destination with golden sand beaches and bays, breathtaking landscapes and a generally slower pace of life. Stewart Island was given national park status in 2002, with 85% of the island now forming the Rakiura National Park, and in 2019, the island was awarded Dark Sky Sanctuary accreditation by the International Dark Sky Association.
Before boarding your aircraft, your pilot will give a pre-flight briefing, and after departing Queenstown, offer a full commentary as you journey to Stewart Island in comfortable leather seats with uninterrupted views out either side of the aircraft. Enjoy fantastic aerial views of Southland, Foveaux Strait and Stewart Island throughout the 55 minute flight, before landing at the Stewart Island airstrip.
Once on the island, the trip can include activities such as Ulva Island eco-sanctuary tours, fishing charters, cruises, short walks or guided tours of the township of Oban.
Return the same day by plane to Queenstown, or ask us about spending the night on the island so that you can include an evening kiwi-spotting tour.
