Your experience starts at Blanket Bay Lodge, where you will experience a traditional New Zealand alpine lodge stay in comfort and style. Check in to your Lodge Room, where you will be staying for two nights, with comfort and luxury, overlooking Lake Whakatipu and the Humboldt Mountains. 

Once you settle in your room, go for a walk by the lake, or indulge in the stunning views from your balcony. In the evening, enjoy delicious cocktails and canapes at their award-winning fine dining restaurant with a 5-course degustation menu dinner.

Your second day begins with a delicious breakfast to get you started for the unique adventures that await you. Get down to the Blanket Bay jetty where we will pick you up by jetboat and take you on an exhilarating jet boat ride up the Dart River deep into the heart of the world-renowned Mount Aspiring National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  

Experience the ever-changing landscape of the Dart Valley, marvel at the braided river structure, water clarity, birds and wildlife. Our team will ensure you experience the beauty of this untouched paradise!

Returning to Blanket Bay, you will have a delicious lunch before heading to the on-site heli-pad where you will then take flight in a modern, well-maintained fleet of helicopters and enjoy a showcase of scenery between Glenorchy and the West Coast.

Enjoy stunning views flying from Glenorchy over the Southern Alps to your first landing in Milford Sound for a scenic walk and photo opportunity. Then fly the full 16km length of New Zealand’s most famous fiord taking in the sheer cliffs, gushing waterfalls and imposing mountains of Milford Sound all the way to the coastline. Land on an isolated West Coast beach to experience the truly rugged nature of this untamed region before heading back across the mountains for one last alpine landing on the way back to Blanket Bay.

Upon return, indulge in another gastronomic experience with a 5-course degustation menu that celebrates the best of seasonal New Zealand produce, and focuses on the finest local ingredients, while soaking in all the experiences you've had on the day.

You will have an amazing night's sleep at the 5-star lodge, and wake up the next day feeling recharged, ready for some delicious breakfast just before checking out to head on to your journey back home.
