The Homestead at Lake Hayes is where history meets lakeside luxury over 5 bedrooms and a modest 15 acres. Sink into the hot tub and snuggle up around the outdoor fire pit with a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. All while the children run wild in the century-old orchards.
A modern masterpiece with a century of class
Originally built in 1906 'restored' doesn't come close to describing the lovingly crafted masterpiece the owners have achieved. Bespoke pieces from around the world complete the incredible interiors that allow families and friends the rare opportunity to spend quality time together, without treading on each others toes.
Sumptuous spaces and fabulous firesides
As you approach the property via the private driveway lined with 100-year-old giant Sequoia trees you will know you are headed some place special. On entering the Homestead you will feel at home among the many living spaces and will find it difficult to choose which room to relax in. The main living area of the home features a very spacious kitchen, open plan dining area and lounge with a grand piano ideal for family gatherings and entertaining with friends. You will be warm and cosy through the winter months with numerous heating options including three indoor fireplaces.There is also a library at the front of the property which offers views across the manicured lawn and rose gardens towards Lake Hayes.
Bedrooms and bath tubs that you'll want to sink into
The property features five bedrooms with the Master located in the original wing of the historic building. It will provide you with a contemporary and luxury experience with a private ensuite bathroom featuring a statement copper bathtub. Two further bedrooms with ensuites are located to the west of the property. One bedroom offers twin beds themed to entertain children with a secret door connecting you back to the main house. You will find the two remaining loft style bedrooms and shared bathroom in the second wing of the house with high pitched ceilings which provides a private space for further guests.

The property has many exterior features offering a fantastic range of entertaining areas , including a life sized chess set, petanque court, outdoor swimming pool area with a floating fireplace and a gym overlooking the lake.
