Find yourself speeding through a historic canyon, visiting relics from the gold mining era, or along a river where history of Maori legends and fantasy of the Lord of The Rings come to life.

Enjoy a late lunch and coffee stop at one of Queenstown’s award winning cafes, where organic and locally sourced food is abundant.

Day Two

Great Walks

If it’s summertime, Queenstown is the perfect destination to access some of the region’s Great Walks and you can make a day trip to the Routeburn Falls hut if you don’t have the time to do the whole track. It’s easily accessed from Queenstown via the stunning 45 minute drive to Glenorchy and the well signposted Glenorchy-Routeburn Road to the Routeburn Shelter. It's between 4 - 5 hours return (9km each way), so pack your lunch, water and head out with plenty of daylight to make the return trip. Make sure you check with the Department of Conservation about any track or weather alerts before you go.

Reward yourself

Reward yourself with a fine dining experience at one of our mouth-watering restaurants owned by a celebrity chef, or having a seven course degustation dinner, the choices (and menus) are endless.
