About Us

Gin Garden is Queenstown’s first boutique gin tasting room.

Located in Arthurs Point, just a 10-minute drive from Queenstown and Arrowtown and only a 3-minute drive from the base of Coronet Peak ski field.

Owned and operated by Broken Heart, the Gin Garden serves 15 award winning, locally distilled Broken Heart Spirits along with a locally brewed Oktoberfest lager.

Recently winning the WORLD’s Best London Dry Gin at the IWSC 2023, Best New Zealand London Dry at the World Gin Awards in both 2021 and 2022, WORLD’s Best Vodka at the World Vodka Awards 2022, and NZ’s Best Spiced Rum at the NZ Spirits Awards 2022 and 2023, we only want to deliver the best to our customers.

Distilled in the pure south of New Zealand, Broken Heart Spirits are derived from all natural botanicals and individually hand crafted. This passion for quality product that’s made from scratch, is a philosophy that makes Broken Heart so unforgettable.

The drink menu offers a comprehensive list of Broken Heart Spirits, tasting flights and cocktails and for those non-spirit drinking folk we offer a selection of beer, wine, bubbles and non-alcoholic options.

Private tastings are available for groups of 6 people or more. Offering a full, in depth tasting experience, a member of our team will spend time with your group talking through the full range and offering samples. The perfect opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the distilling process and get recommendations on serving suggestions.

Our main focus is highlighting our beautiful spirits range, however we do offer a light food menu to complement your tasting experience.

We are a relatively small venue so to guarantee a seat at your required time we do recommend making a booking. For reservations please select link below. If you haven’t made a booking and we are unable to seat you on your arrival, please make yourself comfortable at the bar, order yourselves a drink and as soon as a table becomes free our staff will be able to seat you.

Guided Tastings

For exclusive groups we can offer tastings in our private boardroom. Our knowledgeable staff will talk you through how locally sourced Otago botanicals and pure water derived from the Southern Alps form the backbone of our spirits.

We can accommodate up to 16 people in the boardroom with people spread across a couple of tables. Minimum of 6 people.

Please allow 45 minutes for a full tasting.

Tastings cost $25 per person.

Went to Onsen spa, then after getting massaged for 2 hours I needed a feed. My heart slowly breaking from hunger , hangryness about to take me away from my bliss. No more then 20m away. I see a holy grail ready to mend my crumbling heart Broken Hearts Gin Garden 🤍🤩 Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Spacey jane is a sunny day vibe keep them on repeat 🎸🎸 The Chef is a weapon Food: Slow cooked brisket burger 10/10, The thing about brisket burger is they they often crumble the bun or get real sloppy, truly a heart breaking experience, BUT not here , no sir beautifully firm bun, the brisket sauce immaculate as fine as a G&T on a summer day. 🙏🤌 The Autumn Salad 10/10 I didn't personally order this but I did eat some and it slaps , can't say I've ever in my life said I'd order a salad , but I'd order this one seeeesshhhh 🤌🤌🤌 No brokens hearts here Just full 10/10

10/10 food! I don’t even like meat but the slow-cooked brisket burger was to die for. The Autumn salad exceeded expectations too. Friendly staff and great vibe and views. Thank you!

Went here for lunch to celebrate Mums 70th as a family. Great service, did was delicious ABs we all thoroughly enjoyed our Gin Flights and cocktails (the kids also enjoyed their mocktails!)

VERY yummy tapas, with beautiful presentation, and nice coffee. Clean modern environs with nice outdoor seating. We had no time for gin tastings but pretty sure that would have been great. We bought bottles (of whiskey and plum wine) from their takeaway sales

Love Arthurs Point, and this is a great little spot to start. The Gins are excellent, and the Gin flight worth doing. I give 5 stars because the food to accompany was beautiful and prompt, with only one Chef cooking on a very busy lunch day last month. Everything was fresh tasting. Staff were doing a great job with constant customers.

The Tapas and Gin we had was superb. The staff were amazing and we were made to feel so welcome. Definitely B recommend The Tapas we enjoyed were not only beautifully presented but they were delicious .Exquisite flavours of both food and gin.

Nice surprise in Arthur’s Point We visited twice last month, - which probably says it all, lovely choice of food , beautifully presented, and we enjoyed the different gins. The staff were very helpful with making our choices. Recommend.

21st dinner at the Gin Garden Megan Agras, the restaurant manager looked after our booking from the time I first emailed her. The communication was timely and informative. We were able to organise a 21st dinner celebration for my daughter's 21st with her friends and our family (15 people). We sorted the menu, drinks and format for the evening via email as we are from out of town. We were able to go and set up the private space the day of the event. The atmosphere was incredible and Megan and her team looked after us for the evening with delicious food, a great drinks menu and a speaker we could hook us to to play our own playlist.
