Ride Description
This 3/4 Day self-guided ride package begins with a scenic shuttle from our shop in Queenstown out to our new bike-hub at Arrow Junction (7 KM away from Arrowtown). There you will be fitted to a bike, given some trail tips, and all the info you need to know about the wineries. Hop on your bike and get straight into your pre-wine warm up! You’ll ride 6 KM along a spectacular bike trail, which follows the Arrow and Kawarau river gorges, over the Edgar Swing Bridge, then onto the Kawarau Suspension Bridge – home of the world famous bungy jump.
From there spend the afternoon biking along the Gibbston River Trail, using our informative winery map to visit as many of the cellar doors as you like. Enjoy a relaxed lunch at one of the winery restaurants, or pack a picnic to have en route. If you ride all the way to the last winery, you will cover approx. 17 KM on easy-riding, gravel bike trail.
The return shuttle will pick you up at 4:30 PM from your winery of choice in the Gibbston Valley.

Winery Bookings
To ensure you have an awesome experience at the wineries, it is best to book your tastings and lunch in advance. We can help with timings once you’ve booked with us.
The wineries are independently owned and operated, so tastings are not included in the price of this package, but average cost is approx. $15 – $20 per tasting (some are free).
E-bike Are Recommended
We are yet to hear anyone say “I wish I never upgraded to an electric bike”, but we have certainly heard the opposite! Guarantee the good times, keep your group together, and have an epic day out there.
Which 'Bike The Wineries' Option Is Best For Me?
Over our summer schedule (Sept – Apr), ‘Bike The Wineries’ is offered as a Full Day, this 3/4 Day, or a Half Day option.

Full of personality, Mt Rosa is located at the end of the valley and is certainly worth the effort to visit. Tastings here are extensive, so allow approximately 40min. |
