Arrowtown Shopping Trail
Arrowtown’s compact main street and attached laneways mean sneaking in a little shopping between historical sites or cafes is easy!
Pick up a morning coffee or brunch at an al fresco café or nestled by a fireplace if you’re visiting in the winter months, and head out onto Buckingham Street, where you’ll find confectioners’ for a sweet treat to save for later (or take home as gifts), stores stocking a huge variety of merino wool goods (from spun yarns and crafts to expertly made technical clothing) and souvenirs, and quirky gift stores stocking local designs, fashion and design innovations.
With many award-winning wineries nearby, Arrowtown is also home to a cellar door on Buckingham Street, and there are wine shops for visitors looking for something special to add to a picnic, or even send home to have waiting for your return!
If you explore a little further down the alleyways off Buckingham street you’ll be greeted by high-end homeware stores, children’s clothing and toys, and art galleries showcasing some of the region’s best known artists, and the works of some internationally renowned artists too.
Down on Ramshaw Lane, nearest to the Arrow River, there’s more homewares and chocolate to add to the growing souvenir haul, and cafes to serve up a rewarding hot chocolate and views of the riverside to finish things off.
