Experience some the best that Queenstown has to offer in a short space of time. This 3 day/2 night itinerary will have you planning your next trip immediately!

Day one

Arrive into Queenstown by car or on one of the many daily domestic or trans-tasman flights. Settle into your accommodation, taking in the views and atmosphere, whether you can see the glistening Lake Wakatipu, the soaring mountains, a winding river or lush gardens.

Before you kick of the afternoons activities, wander through Queenstown town centre and enjoy a casual lunch at one of the many fantastic cafes on offer. You might even want to grab a famous “boston bun” to keep your energy levels up!

This afternoon hit the road on a self-drive or quad-biking adventure and take in the incredible views, hoon along on a buggy in the back country, or explore a high country farm on electric trail bikes originally designed for farm use!

After all that excitement, a laid back dinner is in order. We suggest you find a restaurant featuring glimpses of the water and mountains and indulge in a bottle of award winning Central Otago Pinot Noir paired with a fine meal featuring locally sourced produce.

Day two

Rise and shine for a fun fill day! Start out by heading to a café for some world class barista made coffee and a cooked breakfast down one of Queenstown’s laneways or overlooking the waterfront.

Today is about packing as much in as possible.  The list of things to do is endless, however some highlights we recommend are getting out on the Kawarau or Shotover Rivers for an exhilarating jet boat ride, followed by a 4-wheel drive tour into the thrilling Skippers Canyon. Finish the morning at one of Queenstown’s fabulous wineries for an indulgent lunch.

In the afternoon, head to Arrowtown, the original historic gold-mining settlement and explore the Chinese Miners Village, Museum and myriad of boutiques and cafes. You might even strike it rich with a bit of gold-panning in the Arrow River!

After a quick refresh at your hotel, finish the day with an iconic dining experience – sail across the lake for a dinner and farm show or head up to the top of Bob’s Peak for an evening of great food, luging and star gazing.

Day three

For your final day in Queenstown, before reality hits, take some time to walk around the lakefront, visit Queenstown Gardens or just relax with a drink al fresco at one of the many lake-front eateries and bars.

Then end on a high with a once-in-a-lifetime scenic helicopter experience. Whether it’s a quick 10 minute scenic flight, or a longer adventure through the mountains to Milford Sound, this will be sure to be the perfect way to end your Queenstown experience.
