Arrowtown at the end of Autumn
We visited Arrowtown this week. A delightful little gold rush village below the beautiful peaks that surround the sparkling Arrow River. - Reading the plaques around town we learned by the end of 1862 approximately 1500 miners camped noisily beside the Arrow River. Then in January of 1863 the first 12000 ounces of gold were lugged out by escort. That load alone would be worth 15 million at todays prices. - #livology #queenstown #arrowtown
