Arrowtown at the end of Autumn ð
We visited Arrowtown this week. A delightful little gold rush village below the beautiful peaks that surround the sparkling Arrow River. - Reading the plaques around town, we learned by the end of 1862 approximately 1,500 miners camped noisily beside the Arrow River. Then, in January of 1863 the first 12,000 ounces of gold were lugged out by escort. That load alone would be worth $15 million at today's prices. - #livology #queenstown #arrowtown
