Luxury Private Milford Sound Tour
$2,000 - $3,000 NZD
Visit WebsiteMilford Sound is one of those places where the world just seems to make sense – it’s a place of incredible peace and tranquillity, and natural beauty that simply supersedes anything you’ve seen before.
Fiordland National Park with its imposing sky high mountains are like another world. The Milford Road has many scenic stopping points. You’ll see reflective lakes, cascading waterfalls, stunning valleys and large glaciers and the classic dense native bush so well known in Fiordland. Before reaching Milford Sound you’ll travel through the famous Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km long tunnel through the heart of the mountain range.
Milford Sound has towering peaks and powerful waterfalls dropping across massive cliff faces and dense, lush bush-clad hills stretching into the distance, Milford Sound is a raw, Jurassic haven like nowhere else in New Zealand.
We’ll take you on board a small group cruise vessel in the sound, a relatively small boat (approximately 20 metres in length), this is undoubtedly the best way to explore Milford Sound as this particular boat can get as close as possible to the waterfalls and colonies of fur seals, the rare Fiordland crested penguins and the pods of dolphins swimming in the crystal blue waters.
During your two hour small group Milford Sound cruise, you will be shown Lady Bowen Falls (a 162-metre waterfall that powers the Milford village), Sinbad Gully (a classic example of a hanging valley) and the magnificent Mitre Peak, which towers 1692 metres above sea level.
One of our knowledgeable expert guides will host you throughout the tour to ensure you get the most out of your Fiordland experience – and give you an all access pass to stunning, secret locations.
