Founded in 1994 by Jeremy Moon, Icebreaker was the first company to harness the natural performance properties of merino wool. Not only is this incredible natural material capable of outperforming synthetics and plastics, but is an infinitely better choice for the well-being of our planet.

We are constantly struck by the irony of the outdoor industry to promote the use of petroleum based, synthetic fabrics such as polyester and polypropylene as the ‘ideal technical layer’. We believe there is a better way and nature has the answers.
