With prime views of the historic main street and iconic hillsides, a cosy interior inspired by early settler days, and sunny outdoor verandahs and courtyard perfect for al fresco dining, Postmasters Kitchen & Bar is a popular spot for couples, families and groups to relax and catch up over a drink or a meal. 

The historic cottage, now lovingly restored as a gastropub, was once home to the town's postmasters and has been a main street feature since the 1860s.  Its old-world charm, complete with horse-hitching post, picket fence, beautiful gardens and hanging wisteria, has made it one of Arrowtown’s most photographed buildings.

Led by owners Sam Laycock and Maria Kealy, the team is renowned for its warm hospitality, selection of local and New Zealand offerings, and a fresh locally sourced menu catering to a wide range of dietaries including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, and kids’ options.

Postmasters Kitchen & Bar is an ideal venue in any season for boutique private functions - be it an intimate wedding, birthday celebration, business meeting/get-together or touring group stop.

Open for brunch, lunch & dinner 5 days a week, 11am – 8pm.  Closed Tues and Wed.
