How to use the dashboard
- For a better viewing and navigation experience, click the full-screen button in the bottom right corner of the visualisation.
- To return to the home page select the "home" button in the top left, alternatively to navigate between different pages in the report, click the arrow buttons at the bottom middle.
- Visualisations are best viewed on a larger screen, such as a tablet or computer.

Data download
The majority of data used in the Visitor Insights Dashboard is publicly available, we have centralised the various sources in the below Excel file housed in a publically accessible OneDrive link to allow members to download the data through file, save as, download a copy.

The Monthly Data Snapshot is published at the end of each month and gives members a view of how the visitor economy performed in the previous month, using the latest available datasets. All insights are sourced directly from the Queenstown and Wānaka Visitor Insights Dashboards.

Visitor Economy Insights Resource
This resource provides a summary of key visitor economy statistics, data and insights. The data and statistics used in this resource are gathered from a range of locations and data sources. It is updated every six months, at the start of August for year end June, and the start of February for year end December.

Visitor Experience Research
The Queenstown Lakes' Visitor Experience Survey is a collaboration between Lake Wānaka Tourism and Destination Queenstown which seeks to better understand visitor expectations, experiences and behaviours while in the region. DQ and LWT partner with respected industry researcher Angus & Associates to conduct the primary research.
The datasets, insights, and related resources are intended for use by Destination Queenstown and Lake Wānaka Tourism and their respective membership bases only. They should not be published or shared further without prior consultation with Destination Queenstown or Lake Wānaka Tourism.
