Frank's opens at 7:00 am daily. It's well located if you’re looking for a quick breakfast before heading up to The Remarkables Ski Area for the day. Odelay’s sunny courtyard overlooks Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. Friendly staff welcome you to this this light, spacious café.
Odelay is good on gluten-free and vegan options. Choose from classics like eggs benedict, Bircher muesli, and fluffy buttermilk pancakes. The generous breakfast bun with bacon, free range egg, relish, spinach, hollandaise and potato croquettes is a local fav.
Local owners Edward and Bryony Devereux grow ingredients in their garden. They also use free-range and organic produce sourced from local suppliers wherever possible.
3. Joe’s Garage Five Mile
8/36 Grant Road, Frankton
Joe’s Garage first opened in 2000 in an old Post Office sorting room in Queenstown. Today Joe’s has locations across the country. Joe's Garage Five Mile is the ideal spot to chill by the outdoor fireplace and take in the views of The Remarkables with a strong coffee. Joe’s is beloved for their breakfast rolls, hearty classic breakfasts, and pikelets.
Its Frankton location makes Joe's an easy drop in on the way to The Remarkables Ski Area Arrowtown, or Gibbston. Or brunch here before checking out the local stores at Five Mile or Remarkables Park Town Centre nearby.
4. Hustl Café

Located in Frankton's 5 Mile in an area called The Market, Hustl is a standout brunch spot. With ample outdoor seating, it's a great place to enjoy a meal in the sunshine.
Committed to sustainability, Hustl proudly operates as a single-use-cup free establishment. They encourage you to sit down and savour your coffee, bring your own reusable cup or use their reusable cup bank. The brunch menu has twists on the classics like a bubble and squeak bennie. There’s a cabinet packed with good looking home baking.

5. The Boat Shed Café

The Boat Shed Cafe & Bistro is set in the restored, historic New Zealand Railways Shipping Office. The café is set on the very edge of Lake Whakatipu, near Frankton Marina. You’re about as close to the lake as you can get without dipping your toes in.
The Boat Shed Café has a range of breakfast and lunch dishes available from 8am-3pm. Choose from blueberry French toast, Turkish eggs, and spring greens. They serve great coffee. Sit outside on the large deck and listen to the lake lap at the shore. Or snuggle up inside near the fireplace and admire the view over Lake Whakatipu and The Remarkables.

Surrounded by mountains, overlooking Lake Tewa, Jack’s Point Restaurant has a lovely outlook. Jack’s Point is a well-situated breakfast spot no matter the season. You’ve a championship grade golf course outside the door. You’re only 25 minutes from The Remarkables Ski Area and close to a selection of walking and biking trails.
Highlights of the brunch menu include truffle brioche French toast, with banana caramel, and whisky glaze. There are roasted field mushrooms piled on a crumpet. Or if you want something simple try sourdough toast with local wild preserves.

Botswana Butchery has been popular for lunch and dinner since it opened in 2008. Recently, Botswana Butchery launched a new brunch menu offering from 8am-11:30am daily.

We like the grilled halloumi, with sweetcorn fritters, and smashed rosemary potatoes. Sit outside historic Archer’s Cottage. The menu is a tasty cultural collision where American diner meets European bistro meets Asian fusion. This attention to detail means even simple dishes like eggs on sourdough come with a delicious relish and house made Sriracha mayo. Their granola with berry coulis and Greek yoghurt and their banana bread are firm local favs.

A strong contender for the best café in Queenstown, Bespoke Kitchen pride themselves on their healthy menu, baking, and incredible cabinet food. The café is at the base of Bob’s Peak, a five-minute walk from central Queenstown. Bespoke Kitchen is a great spot for brunch before heading up the Skyline Gondola for sightseeing or luging. You sit overlooking Queenstown Bay and The Remarkables.
