Snow Report – 24 July 2024

The trails on-piste have been riding beautifully, the parks are pumping and there’s plenty of après-ski goodness to get involved with. Welcome back to the weekly Queenstown/Wānaka weekly Mountainwatch update 🙌❄️

Coronet Peak has Wax Mustang headlining a night ski party tonight. The Remarkables has the Skin to Summit event on Thursday, Cardrona has the Park Attack Slopestyle this Saturday, and Treble Cone’s Summit Slopes are open with some of the best snow on the mountain.

Remember to mark your calendars, the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest snow sports event Winter Games NZ is back for 2024! Catch the action in Queenstown and Wānaka from 23 August – 08 September as New Zealand’s best snow athletes compete with some of the world’s top winter sporting talent.

Snow Report – 17 July 2024

Welcome back to the Queenstown/Wānaka Weekly Mountain Update. 

It's been a stunning week of sunshine and freezing overnight temperatures with mountains of man-made snow providing great groomed trails. 

Coronet Peak has night ski this Saturday as well as the usual Wednesday, and Friday nights. Cardrona now has their Kids School Holiday Festival running, The Remarkables has the Skin to Summit event on July 18th and Treble Cone has been grooming top to bottom with some unreal sunrises. Expect sunshine through until at least Friday afternoon, when we should see more top-ups of snow.

Snow Report – 10 July 2024

We’re back with the latest Queenstown Wānaka Snow Report and we’re stoked to see that all mountains are riding well with chalky snow and cold temperatures. 

Coronet Peak has all lifts open and Cardrona now has jumps in at Antlers Alley. The Remarkables has the new Shadow Basin chairlift spinning and Treble Cone is open from top to bottom.  A massive high is sitting off the country delivering cold temperatures and beautiful bluebird days, so get amongst it!

When you’re shredding the slopes, remember to take a second to appreciate the ski areas that you visit, and look after them.

Snow Report – 3 July 2024

We’re celebrating a snowy start to July with 20cm-50cm of fresh snow! Here's the weekly Queenstown/Wānaka Mountainwatch Snow Report update. Let's gooooo! 

The storm has delivered the good stuff and set the mountains up for an epic winter season. Over the next week we can look forward to some frosty starts and beautiful bluebird days.

Treble Cone opened Saturday on a beautiful day which means all four mountains across the region are officially open. More trails and terrain are opening up daily so watch this space for updates. 

There's some epic days to be had up the mountains - and some epic nights too with night skiing sessions at Coronet Peak kicking off tonight. Word on the street is that First Tracks from 8am-9am is also worth getting out of bed for.

Snow Report – 26 June 2024

The Remarkables, Cardrona Alpine Resort and Coronet Peak all kicked off the season last week, Snow Farm is now open and Treble Cone is opening this Saturday.

Huge thanks to all the mountain crews who have worked hard to get a selection of runs, terrain park features and restaurants open for you to enjoy. There’s 5cm of snow predicted from Saturday and then more sunny skies are forecasted for early next week, perfect for hitting the slopes, sightseeing, snow play and learner lessons.

Snow Report – 19 June 2024

The Queenstown/Wānaka Mountainwatch Snow Reports are back for another winter! If you're hitting the slopes this season, these weekly reports are essential for snow updates and information on what's happening across the mountains in Queenstown and Wānaka.

We’re kicking off the first episode by celebrating the openings of Cardrona Alpine Resort, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. With snowfall over the weekend, frigid overnight temperatures and some mammoth snowmaking efforts, these mountains are all open with great snow on selected trails, and more opening daily.
