Snow Report – 9 August 2023

It’s hard to believe that this is our final Queenstown/Wānaka Mountainwatch report for winter 2023! The good news is we're only halfway through the season – there is still plenty of fun to be had on our slopes right through until October ❄️

At Coronet Peak, first tracks and night ski are running right through until September. The Remarkables have recorded over 1.2 meters of snowfall so far this season, so expect to see the mountain continue to ride nicely and well into spring.

Up at Cardrona Alpine Resort, the terrain park crew are working on more features in the lead-up to the world-class Winter Games events. Treble Cone currently has some incredible freeride terrain on offer and they are positioned well to get some good top-ups.

Be sure to also get in a visit to Snow Farm for a fun-filled day or overnight mission with your whānau and friends.

There are also some seriously fun events happening on the mountains through to October.

Catch the Dog Derby and SYNTHONY in the SNOW at Coronet Peak, the renowned Merino Muster at Snow Farm and the Winter Pride Festival across all our ski fields – and much more!
Keep up to date with the latest mountain happenings on our events page.

The Remarkables have so many fun features going at the moment like the medium jump line and the chutes have been serving up great times for those searching for fresh lines.

Snow Farm is now open and the conditions up there are absolutely mint. It really is the perfect place to organise a full day out with the family or a crew of friends. Try booking an overnight stay in one of their backcountry huts for an unforgettable experience!

Captain's chairlift and café are up and running at Cardrona Alpine Resort which has opened up a heap more on-mountain terrain. Plus, Treble Cone now has The Saddle and Home basin open after receiving a generous 10cm of fresh snow over the past week.
