Visitor Economy Insights Resource

This resource provides a summary of key visitor economy statistics, data and insights. The data and statistics used in this resource are gathered from a range of locations and data sources. To explore the data further please head to the Wānaka Visitor Insights Dashboard. It is updated every six months, at the start of August for year end June, and the start of February for year end December.


Wānaka Quarterly Data Snapshots

At the end of each quarter LWT members are sent a communication with a summary of the past quarter's data metrics and insights. 


Visitor Experience Research

The Queenstown Lakes' Visitor Experience Survey is a collaboration between Lake Wānaka Tourism and Destination Queenstown which seeks to better understand visitor expectations, experiences and behaviours while in the region. DQ and LWT partner with respected industry researcher Angus & Associates to conduct the primary research.


Emerging Traveller Trends

Emerging Traveller Trends is an independent piece of research that explores how travellers’ expectations, desires and demands have shifted due to factors including the pandemic, climate change and geopolitical situations.
