The pedestrian-friendly Queenstown Mall is centrally located and has a large number of high street chain stores to local fashion boutiques, interspersed with cafes and restaurants to sate your appetite from a day perusing the shops. Start here on your walking mission, at the top or bottom, it doesn’t matter.

The surrounding streets offer jewellery, gift shops, stationary, wine, and outdoor gear stores to pick up extra layers of weather-proof clothing.

Head towards the Queenstown Gardens on Camp Street, checking out stores on both sides of the road, and sneaking down Searle Lane to see what boutique goods you can snap up along the way.

Then, take a right down Church Street and head towards the lake, where you’ll find books, art, jewellery by local designers and historical building, Eichardt’s, which houses some serious fashion.

Now you’re on Rees Street, and back at the Mall where the high street brands are plentiful.

Further along up and down Beach Street as far as Earnslaw Park are more boutiques for both men and women, as well as surf brands, wine, chocolates and sportswear . Make sure you venture down any alleyways or up the escalators to see what you can find.
